Things people say who have not been on a road bike for a long time:

“Is that a 10-speed? I used to have a 10-speed."

"Helmet? I can put my hands out."

"Is that a mirror on your helmet? Does it work?"

"I've been looking at this bike at Wal-Mart...."

"I'm doing a 5k walk for a fundraiser."

"What would you give me for the 3-speed in my garage?"

"Why do your shoes make so much noise?"

"Get on the sidewalk!"

"Have you ever tried one of those automatic transmission bikes?"

“Do you realize you don’t have much tread left on your tire?”

“Why are you wearing gloves?”

They look at your jersey and say, "Do you work for the Post Office?"

Are there enough spokes on your wheel?

Why do you want a light bike? Doesn’t a heavier bike give you more exercise?
